Nordic Pure 12x24x4 Pleated Air Filters MERV 15 are made of electrostatically charged synthetic materials that attract and capture most airborne particulates in your home. Each time air passes through a Nordic Pure pleated furnace filter, lint, household dust, pollen, dust mites, pet dander, smoke particles, smog, allergens, virus carriers, bacteria, mold spores and other contaminants are removed. All Nordic Pure pleated air filters are manufactured using a heavy duty, moisture resistant beverage board frame. There is a metal mesh support grid bonded to the pleats for extra support. Our AC filter media prevents the growth of bacteria or mold, resulting in a much healthier living environment. MERV 15 furnace air conditioner filters are comparable to HVAC filters with the rating of MPR 2800 or a rating of FPR 10+. Particles in indoor air are measured in microns; for scale, a human hair is about 70 microns wide. Each Nordic Pure 4” MERV 15 air filter will capture more than 90% of 1.0-10.0 micron contaminants and up to 85% of .30-1.0 micron contaminants. It is important to note that because of this high filtration and air flow restriction, HVAC systems should be rated to handle filters of MERV 15 and above. Nordic Pure MERV 15 air filters work great in newer, high efficiency systems that use HEPA filters. The MERV 15 hypoallergenic pleated air filter is made of synthetic material that will not support the growth of mold and bacteria. This MERV 15 high efficiency air filter will attract and capture the small, allergy-aggravating micro-particles that can cause your family discomfort. The Nordic Pure hypoallergenic pleated air filter has a Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value(MERV) of 15 which means that it will collect more than 90-Percent of ALL microns of contaminants. Particles in indoor air are measured in microns, which are 1/1000 of a millimeter. Because of this high filtration and air flow restriction, heating and air conditioner systems should be checked to make sure they can handle filters rated MERV 15 and above. Nordic Pure air filters have an actual size that is a fraction of an inch smaller than the nominal size. With the 4-Inch and 5-Inch air filters there is a wide variance between the nominal size and actual size.
